Your Guide to Common Questions
Find clear and concise answers to the most frequently asked questions about the Borneo International Academic Forum (BIAF) 2026. If you can’t find what you’re looking for, feel free to contact our secretariat team—we’re here to help.
1. Is there any registration or participation fee?
No. Participation in BIAF 2026 is completely free of charge. There are no registration, submission, or presentation fees.
2. Will the conference be held online or onsite?
BIAF 2026 will be conducted in a hybrid format. Participants may attend either onsite at UIN Antasari Banjarmasin or online via Zoom Meeting, depending on their preference and circumstances.
3. Can I participate without presenting a paper?
Yes. Individuals who do not submit or present a paper are welcome to join BIAF 2026 as participants, subject to the conference registration policy.
1. In what language should the paper be written?
Manuscripts should be written in English or Arabic, following the official BIAF manuscript template.
2. May an author submit more than one paper?
Each participant may submit only one paper as the first author.
However, the same participant may be listed as a co-author (including as the last author) on additional paper submissions.
1. Can presenters use Indonesian during their presentation?
Yes. Presenters may use Indonesian during the oral presentation. However, presentation slides (PowerPoint) must be prepared entirely in English or Arabic. Presenters are encouraged to deliver their presentation using a combination of Indonesian and English (or Arabic) to facilitate communication with both local and international audiences.
2. Must the first author present the paper?
The first author is strongly encouraged to present the paper. However, if the first author is unable to attend due to certain circumstances, the presentation may be delivered by the second or third author.
3. If a paper has multiple authors, may all authors attend the session?
Yes. All co-authors are welcome and encouraged to attend the presentation session. Although only one presenter will receive a Presenter Certificate, all authors may participate in the discussion and question-and-answer session.
4. Is attendance required during the presentation session?
Yes. Presenters are expected to attend their assigned session and present their paper according to the official conference schedule. This is important to ensure meaningful academic discussion and active participation throughout the conference.
1. Will participants receive certificates?
Yes. BIAF 2026 provides certificates according to each participant’s role, including:
- Presenter Certificate
- Author Certificate
- Participant Certificate
- Moderator Certificate
- Reviewer Certificate
- Committee Certificate (where applicable)
Certificates will be distributed electronically after the conference.
2. Will all authors receive a Presenter Certificate?
No. Only the author who delivers the presentation will receive a Presenter Certificate.
Co-authors who do not present will receive an Author Certificate, which includes the names of all authors listed on the paper.
1. Will accepted papers be published?
Yes. Accepted papers will be published in the BIAF 2026 Conference Proceedings, subject to the peer-review process and editorial policies established by the organizing committee.
2. What publication options are available after the conference?
BIAF 2026 offers two publication pathways for accepted papers:
- Conference Proceedings
Authors who choose the conference proceedings pathway will have their accepted papers published electronically in the official BIAF 2026 Proceedings.
- Journal Publication
Authors who choose the journal publication pathway may have the opportunity for their manuscripts to be recommended for publication in one of the academic journals managed by UIN Antasari Banjarmasin.
Only manuscripts that are recommended by the conference reviewers based on their academic quality, originality, and relevance will be considered for this pathway.
Recommended manuscripts are not automatically accepted for publication. Authors must still follow the respective journal’s publication process, including manuscript submission, editorial screening, peer review, revision (if required), and the final editorial decision.
One of the publication outlets is Muasarah: Jurnal Kajian Islam Kontemporer (SINTA 4 Accredited). Depending on the manuscript’s scope and quality, authors may also be recommended to other appropriate journals managed by UIN Antasari Banjarmasin.
